Dominic Nunns is the founder and Music Director of the Marylebone Chamber Orchestra. This exciting young orchestra acquired a reputation for imaginative and polished performances during a series of concerts between 1998 and 2003. This in turn led to two appearances on Channel 4 Television. The MCO's concerts, held at the beautiful venues in and around the Marylebone area including St. James's Piccadilly and the Duke's Hall at the Royal Academy of Music, led to favourable press comment in the local and national press: The Ham and High described Dominic Nunns as "a conductor to look out for" and praised the orchestra for "showcasing new talent". (see here for complete review). During this time the orchestra received major sponsorship from Marylebone's major landowner Howard de Walden Estates.

Soloists with the orchestra have included established artists such as Colin Lawson and Peter Sulski as well as rising stars Ruth Rogers, Helena Wood, Viv MacLean and Min-Jung Kim. The MCO has been guest conducted on two occasions by Anthony Weeden.
At present the MCO has no schedule of orchestral concerts. However, the orchestra comes together again for occasional chamber music concerts and projects, mostly by invitation and from regular clients such as the Royal Society of Medicine. The MCO is a flexible group of musicians and has been hired for a variety of formal and informal occasions, both as concert and background music.
The MCO's most recent major project was in 2004 when Dominic Nunns conducted for a recording of Stravinsky's Octet which was partly funded by Arts Council England. You can listen to excerpts from the recording on this website.
